This installation emerges entirely from the subconscious of Rudolfs Stamers, inspired by dreams and shaped by a vivid nightmare. In the fragile moment between sleep and waking, the title appeared- I saved you yesterday so you can save me tomorrow, and became the guiding thread for the work that followed.
Stamers divides the installation into two interconnected realms: the real world and the imaginary one. Each functions on its own, yet neither can be fully understood without the other. Both spaces are inhabited by life and death, desire and restraint, social constructs, prohibitions, and unsettling comparisons.
The artist deliberately avoids revealing which realm is real and which is imagined. To Stamers, the boundary between them dissolves. What occurs in one reflects in the other and vice versa. Actions, emotions, and consequences move freely between the two, blurring the line between perception and reality.
Through this work, Rudolfs Stamers explores the delicate threads that bind individuals to each other, to their fears, and to the worlds they construct within themselves.
